Army Chief DoB

Saturday, the 21st January, 2012.
The controversy of the DoB of Army Chief, people say, is a silly affaire. Sure, it is, but not for the reason that the two different dates appearing as the DoB, but for the reason that it was not settled down once for all when reported, and allowed to drag till the fag end of the general’s tenure. Apparently, it’s the fault of the govt machinery, as all know that we have clear-cut rules as to what should be the ultimate documental evidence. Now that the matter is in court, the govt sensing itself guilty and is trying to save face thro’ other means.
Some say that, the general has created a history of precedence of going to court. Sure he has created a precedence, but not bad, it’s healthy and not mala fide, because he has the ultimate evidence in his favour. Ours is a democratic country, if any citizen (which of course includes a general) feels he is deprived of justice then he can go for judicial redressal. On the other hand we come across bad precedences created on and off by the govt itself.

Judiciary System

Saturday, the 14th January, 2012.
People related to judiciary system often say “Bail is the norm, and Jail is the exception”. We notice that this is stated only when a wealthy, mighty and influential is in judicial custody. Nobody says this for a poor and hapless person even if he is falsely accused.

Marketing - Definitions of

10-Jan-2012: DEFINITIONS OF MARKETING:

The Shortest Definition of Marketing Management:

The shortest definition of Marketing Management is “Meeting Needs Profitably”.

Whose Needs? - The needs of the people, or the customers or consumers,

Who is trying to meet? - The Producer, Marketer or the Company,

What is the Objective? - With profit to the company, & satisfaction to the customers.

The American Marketing Association (AMA) Definition:

Marketing is an organisational function and a set of processes for creating, communicating & delivering value to customers and for managing customer relationships in ways that benefit the organisation & its stake holders.

Philip Kotler’s Definition of Marketing Management:

Marketing Management is the art & science of choosing target markets and getting, keeping and growing customers thro’ creating, communicating & delivering superior customer value.

The Social Definition of Marketing:

Marketing is a social process by which individuals & groups obtain what they need, and want thro’ creating, offering & freely exchanging products & services of value with others.

The Managerial Definition of Marketing:

It’s simply “The art of selling products”.

Peter Drucker’s view on Marketing Management:

The aim of marketing is to make “selling” superfluous. It’s to know & understand the customer so well that the product or service fits him and sells itself. Ideally, marketing should result in a customer who is ready to buy. All that should be needed then is to make the product or service available.

Human Rights Activists

Saturday, the 7th January, 2012.
Human Rights Activists often argue in favour of grave criminals like mass murderers, terrorists stating, “They are also human, they have a right to live”. But what we don’t hear from them is about the victims of these criminals. Nobody speaks of their human rights, as if the victims and their families are not human, and have no right to their lives and belongings.
